Dorothy Carbonell Award
December 2025 - 'Stitch a Christmas card'
The competition is open to all members of the Winchester Textiles and Embroidery Group. Everyone who would like to take part should make one piece of work inspired by the theme 'Christmas'. It must be mounted in the window card provided at group meetings. It can be in any technique.
It should be a piece of work that has not been exhibited before.
Please write your name to the back of your card.
Please bring your completed piece to our December Christmas meeting where the competition will be judged by the members attending that day.
The winner will receive £25.00 cash.

Esme Parker Award for hand stitching
December 2024 - Textures in Nature
The competition is open to all members of the Winchester Textiles and Embroidery Group. Everyone who would like to take part should make one piece of work inspired by the theme 'Texture in Nature'. Your piece may be framed or unframed, 2D or 3D but it must be hand stitched. It should be a piece of work that has not been exhibited before. Please attach your name to the back of your work.
Please bring your completed piece to our December Christmas meeting where the competition will be judged by the members attending that day. The winner will be presented with the Esme Parker Award, a beautiful glass plate engraved with needle, thread and scissors and a £25.00 voucher to put towards a WTEG workshop.
